The Angry Dandelion is an enemy that spawns on grass during the Windy Day event at daytime. It is stationary and shoots 1–3 damaging Dandelion Seed projectiles at the player every 0.67 seconds.[1]

Notes

  • Like the Windy Balloon, Angry Dandelions can only spawn upwind of the player.
  • The Angry Dandelion can only fire seeds in the direction of the wind; it cannot shoot in the opposite direction. Furthermore, it can only fire at players that are within a 62.5×12.5-tile rectangle centered on the enemy.[1]

Trivia

  • The Angry Dandelion bears a striking resemblance to the Nipper Dandelion from the platforming video game Yoshi's Island DS. Nipper Dandelions also release spores when they are affected by wind.
  • Despite being a dandelion, the Angry Dandelion drops Dayblooms, possibly due to there being no dandelion item in-game.
  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Angry Dandelion: "All this wind can make just about anyone angry. Evidently, this includes otherwise harmless dandelions and their deadly seeds."

History

  • Desktop 1.4.1: Fixed an issue where the Angry Dandelion's projectile damage scaled twice, resulting in it doing far more than it should have, especially in Expert/Master.
