The Arms Dealer is an NPC/ja that will spawn once the following criteria have been met:
- There is an empty house/ja.
- The player has at least one bullet/ja or bullet-firing gun/ja in their inventory (guns stored in storage items/ja like chests/ja do not count).
If the Arms Dealer is killed, he will only respawn if the above conditions are met again.
On the Desktop version, Console version, and Mobile version, when threatened by enemies/ja, the Arms Dealer will use a Flintlock Pistol/ja to defend himself. Once Hardmode/ja begins, he upgrades to a Minishark/ja for self-defense. He deals 24 / 36 / 42 damage in Pre-Hardmode/ja (decreasing to 15 / 22 / 26 damage in Hardmode/ja, although he does gain an increased rate of fire to compensate), and (on the Desktop version, Console version, and Mobile version) as players progress he will gain various stat increases/ja.[1]

Tips
- The easiest way to acquire a qualifying gun/ja is to smash either a Shadow Orb/ja or Crimson Heart/ja in the Corruption/ja or the Crimson/ja. They will always drop a Musket/ja or an Undertaker/ja, respectively, on the first break.
- The Musket/ja and Undertaker/ja can also be found in Corrupt Crate/jas and Crimson Crate/jas, respectively.
- Other qualifying early guns include:
- Boomstick/ja (from Jungle Crate/jas and Ivy Chest/jas)
- Red Ryder(Desktop, Console, Old-gen console and Mobile versions) (from Presents/ja).
- The Flare Gun/ja and its Flares do not qualify.
- You can also get bullets from the Party Girl/ja. When there is a party thrown, buy the Pigronata/ja, and their dropped bullets would be more than enough.

Trivia
- The name Brimst may be a reference to brimstone (sulfur), one of the ingredients of gunpowder.
- He seems to be attracted to both the Nurse/ja and the Dryad/ja. This is seen in his quote about the date with the Nurse, and the Dryad's quote about him flirting with her. He also flirts with the Mechanic/ja, according to her quote about the pressure plate/ja, but he seemingly has more of an interest in the Nurse.
- His interest in the Nurse is further backed by selling her clothes on Halloween/ja instead of his own (though on a technical level, the Nurse does not have a shop interface to sell any items with).
- The Arms Dealer and Guide/ja seem to argue with each other through Emotes, implying they do not get along. This is further evidenced by his quote regarding the Guide Voodoo Doll/ja. However, the Guide has no effect on his happiness.
- The quote about the Guide Voodoo Doll still appears even if the Guide is dead, but the name will be random each time.
- His quote about ammo being extra is a reference to the fact that in most movies, the protagonists or other characters seemingly never run out of ammo.
- The いきものずかん entry for the Arms Dealer: "The Arms Dealer has everything anyone could need to shoot things dead, from little round bullets to guns made from sharks."
