Ash Wood armor is a pre-Hardmode armor set, and is the most powerful wooden armor set available in pre-Hardmode. Crafting the full set requires a total of 75 Ash Wood.

The set consists of the Ash Wood Helmet, the Ash Wood Breastplate, and the Ash Wood Greaves.

A full set of Ash Wood armor provides the following bonuses:

• +7 defense
• Halves the contact damage of lava from 80 to 40.
• Halves the duration of the On Fire! debuff from contact with lava from 7 / 14 / 17.5 seconds to 3.5 / 7 / 8.75 seconds.

Notes

• In Don't dig up and Get fixed boi worlds, the Ash Wood armor receives the following changes:
  • Each set piece only has 1 defense, for a total of 3.
  • The set bonus reduces lava damage from 200 to 72, a decrease of 64% instead of only 50%.
  • The set bonus reduces the duration of the On Fire! debuff to 7 / 14 / 17.5 seconds. This is the same absolute decrease as in other worlds, but the relative bonus is only a 33.33% decrease instead of 50% since the debuff normally lasts for 10.5 / 21 / 26.25 seconds in Don't dig up and Get fixed boi.
• The Ash Wood armor's set bonus stacks with the Obsidian Rose and its derivatives. If both are equipped, the player is fully immune to damage from lava.
  • In Don't dig up and Get fixed boi worlds, the player will still take 27 base damage and be inflicted with On Fire! for 3.5 / 7 / 8.75 seconds in this case.

Tips

• The player likely already has better armor at the point that Ash Wood armor is usually obtained. However, it may still be useful due to its set bonus, especially if the player intends to spend more time around lava.
