Axearang

Desktop/Console/Mobile-Only Content: This information applies only to the Desktop, Console, and Mobile versions of Terraria.

The Axearang is a pre-Hardmode axe and boomerang obtained by throwing an Axe of Regrowth into Shimmer. It chops down any tree in its path upon throwing, but not when returning to the player. It can chop down Glowing Mushroom Trees and gem trees, but not Cacti.^[1]

The Guide to Environmental Preservation will prevent the Axearang from chopping down trees.

Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic. Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount.

The Axearang is a reference to the Great Tree vs Axe War of 2023, a community ran event that many Terraria developers participated in. It was added to the game as a reward for the supporters of Team Axe.
The Axearang's sprite may be based on the kukri, a style of Nepali machete often used to clear thick plant growth.
