The Slice of Hell Cake is a pet-summoning item that spawns a Baby Imp pet to follow the player around. When the player is far enough away or in midair, the Baby Imp will spread its arms and fly to catch up to the player. The Slice of Hell Cake has a 1/10 (10%) chance of being found in Shadow Chests and a 1/20 (5%) chance of being found in Obsidian Crates and Hellstone Crates.

Trivia

• When idle, the Baby Imp appears to yawn.
• The Slice of Hell Cake's sprite seems to be a recolored version of the Slice of Cake.
• The Baby Imp is based on the Fire Imp enemy. The Slice of Hell Cake's tooltip, "'He hasn't learned how to teleport yet!'", is a reference to the enemy's teleportation abilities.
  • However, while the Fire Imp is red, the Baby Imp is a shade of indigo similar to that of Shadow Chests.
• In the Baby Imp's buff tooltip, "Just wait till his terrible twos!", "terrible twos" refers to a period in a toddler's early development characterized by mood swings and unruly behavior, typically around two years of age.
