The Barnacle Staff is a Hardmode summon weapon that can be obtained extremely rarely by fishing in the Hardmode Jungle biome in any layer.

It summons the Barnacle sentry. It fires poison spit at enemies that inflict the Poisoned debuff for 5–10 seconds. The Barnacle moves upwards if there are any solid blocks within the 15 tiles directly underneath it, but otherwise floats in place. Coming in contact with solid blocks causes its balloons to pop, making it stop moving and attach to any available ceilings.[1]

It can be considered the Jungle counterpart to the Crimson's Bladetongue, the Hallow's Crystal Serpent, and the Corruption's Toxikarp.

Its best modifier is Fabled.

Notes

  • The Barnacle fires poison spit at enemies once every 0.83 seconds.[1]
  • The Barnacle can target enemies within a 77.5-tile distance.[1]
  • The poison spit is unaffected by gravity and moves at the speed of 184 mph.
