Notes

  • (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) Cursed Bullets can only be obtained in worlds with The Corruption as they require Cursed Flames, and Ichor Bullets can only be obtained in worlds with The Crimson as they require Ichor. (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Since the Graveyard made it possible to obtain both evil biomes in a single world, this is no longer the case.
  • The Endless Musket Pouch acts as a single Musket Ball. However, it is never consumed when fired, and thus can be used limitlessly.

Tips

  • Exploding Bullets have the highest knockback of all bullets in the game, balancing the low knockback of some rapid-fire ranged weapons. They are unique for being the only bullet type that deals area-of-effect damage.
  • Crystal Bullets generally give the highest damage per second output on guns (excluding luminite bullets) and synergize extremely well with ichor.
  • Chlorophyte Bullets have a very potent homing that makes them extremely convenient to use and negate the spread of many guns (such as Chain Gun).
  • Musket Balls/Endless Musket Pouch can be extremely cheap ammo in general and used with guns that turn musket balls into different bullets (such as Sniper Rifle, Uzi). It must be noted that the musket balls' damage does not change to the other bullet's damage.
  • Meteor Shots can be considered to be the final pre-hardmode bullets due to having the ability to pierce an enemy. It is also a very useful bullet in early hardmode till better hardmode bullets are obtained.
  • High Velocity Bullets: These bullets have an extremely high velocity and can pierce up to two enemies, making them very useful against crowds.
  • Ichor Bullets: These bullets inflict ichor, which is a very potent debuff that reduces enemy defense by 15, making this ammunition useful as a sidearm.
  • In Journey Mode only 99 bullets are needed for Research and infinite duplication, rendering the Endless Musket Pouch useless, as it needs 3996 Musket Balls to be used, only giving infinite Musket Balls.
