Bunny in a Slime costume for Halloween
Bunny in a Santa costume for Christmas
A Gold Bunny(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), which appears rarely in place of a normal bunny.
A Bunny with a Party Hat for Parties(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions)
Gem Bunnies(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), which appear in Underground Towns.
The Bunny is a harmless critter that spawns in the Forest biome. They are the most common critters in Terraria, and are usually the first ones a new player will see.
Bunnies have only 5 health and no defense, and can be damaged by other enemies and players.
Bunnies can be caught with any Bug Net to be carried around in the inventory and released later, or crafted into animated decorative furniture (Bunny Cage). Once crafted, the Bunnies cannot be released again, unless the furniture item is de-crafted via Shimmer(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
Bunnies can be spawned by the Bunny Statue, however statue-spawned critters cannot be caught with any Bug Net, and will disappear in a puff of smoke when the player attempts to do so.
On the Desktop version, Console version, and Mobile version, there is a 1/400 (0.25%) chance for a Gold Bunny to spawn in place of an ordinary one.
During a Blood Moon, or when hit with Vile Powder or Vicious Powder(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Bunnies will turn into Corrupt Bunnies or Vicious Bunnies(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), which are hostile enemies.
During the Halloween seasonal event, Bunnies spawn wearing Green Slime costumes, during Christmas, Bunnies will spawn wearing Santa costumes, and during a Party(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Bunnies can spawn with Party Hats.
(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Gem Bunnies spawn near towns in the Cavern layer.

Notes
- If a Bunny is released from the inventory during a Blood Moon, it becomes a Corrupt or Vicious Bunny.
- Bunnies spawn near bound NPCs as well.
- Bunnies wearing hats during a Party are not transformed into Corrupt Bunnies if Vile Powder is used on them.
- If a Bunny wearing a Party Hat, Slime Costume or Santa Costume is captured in a Bug Net, then released, it will change into a regular Bunny.
Tips
- Bunnies (and Gem Bunnies) spawning in underground layer and below means there may be a Skeleton Merchant or other NPC nearby.
Trivia
- The Bunny is an iconic Terraria element and can be seen on many of Terraria's logos.
- Humorously, a bunny wearing a slime costume is labeled as "slime" when moused over.
- During Halloween, there is also a Slime wearing a Bunny costume.
- The Bunny, Bird, Goldfish, and Penguin are the only four Critters that have banners of themselves.
- On the Desktop version, Console version, and Mobile version, a cloud in the shape of a Bunny can occasionally be seen in the background.
- On the world creation menu, the Bunny is used as the icon for Classic Mode.
