So what the heck are "Consumable" items, anyway? (facetious (humor)) It seems many wiki editors think this is any item you can make disappear - including any material used to craft another item. If true, I this would encompass something like 70-90% of the items in the game. I suggest we stick to the game's definitions; categorize "Materials" as "Material items" and "Consumable" as "Consumable items" (as dictated by the item's in-game tooltip). This would include a smaller group of items that disappear or may disappear when used, such as certain missile weapons, potions and food items, like mushrooms and fish. So, can we agree to match the wiki's definition of "Consumable" to the game's definition?

If you agree with me, then what can we do about it? Does someone have a bot that could go through all the item pages and set the consumable property to = (blank)? ~SgtKlaos(T/C) 12:04, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Wearable items?

With the v1.1 addition of the Mannequin and the ability to place wearable items on it, are wearable items (vanity items and armor) now part of this category? Either way, the intro definition should specify.

Just FYI, Copper armor (for example) isn't in this list at the moment.

Definition

"Consumable items are items that can—but not necessarily must—be used in a manner that causes them to leave the player's inventory."

Under what circumstances would the consumable not leave the player's inventory when used/placed? – Ferretwings (talk) 19:11, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
