Chilled is a debuff which moderately reduces the player's movement speed, similar to Slow. It is usually inflicted by enemies found in the Snow or Ice biomes. In Expert Mode(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), it is also caused by touching water or shimmer(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) in a Snow biome.

Most enemies that can inflict Chilled can also inflict the Frozen debuff.

The debuff can be negated by equipping the Hand Warmer, Ankh Shield, (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) or a full set of Snow armor. Additionally, Arctic Diving Gear will protect the player from Chilled afflicted by submerging in liquids, but not other sources of Chilled.
