The Chlorophyte Claymore used against Target Dummies.

The Chlorophyte Claymore is a Hardmode, post-mechanical bosses broadsword. When swung, it occasionally fires a Chlorophyte Orb that deals the weapon's damage, can pierce an infinite number of enemies, but cannot pass through blocks. The orb becomes affected by gravity after traveling a short distance.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes

  • The Chlorophyte Orb projectile has a cooldown of 0.75 seconds.
    • (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) While the cooldown is active, the player can neither switch items, look in another direction, nor use Auto Select, but they can continue swinging the sword.
    • A small particle effect and the sound for restoring mana will notify the player of a recharged Chlorophyte Orb.
  • Melee speed bonuses affect the projectile's velocity, but not its fire rate.

Trivia

  • (Console and Mobile versions) All existing Tizonas in 1.3.0.1-equivalent worlds were replaced by Chlorophyte Claymores upon updating.
  • The claymore is a medieval Scottish sword.

History

  • Desktop 1.3.0.1:
    • Damage increased from 65 to 75.
    • Use time reduced from 28 to 26.
