(Old-gen console and 3DS versions) The Chlorophyte Saber attacking Target Dummies. Note how the projectile can pierce walls.
The Chlorophyte Saber is a Hardmode sword which occasionally fires a Spore Cloud projectile when swung. It costs no ammunition or mana, emits light, deals (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 70% / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) the same damage as the sword but no knockback, is not affected by gravity, and can pierce an infinite number of enemies. The Chlorophyte Saber is the less powerful but faster sword of the two that can be crafted from Chlorophyte Bars, with the other being the Chlorophyte Claymore.
Its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes
- The Spore Cloud projectile has a cooldown of (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 0.47 seconds / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 0.7 seconds.
- (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) While the cooldown is active, the player can neither switch items, look in another direction, nor utilize Auto Select, but they can continue swinging the sword.
- (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) A small particle effect and the sound for restoring mana will notify the player of a recharged Spore Cloud.
- Melee speed will affect the speed of the Spore Cloud. Its cooldown will remain unchanged, however.
- The Spore Cloud gradually slows down and becomes translucent. It disappears after 1.06 seconds (at base melee speed) and thus has a range of 11.12 tiles.[1]
