Hey, buddy, do you know where any deathweed is? Oh, no reason; just wondering, is all.

Emote Town Guide.gif The Guide

Deathweed is a type of herb which appears as a short, withered purple stalk. It grows naturally on Ebonstone, Crimstone, Corrupt grass, Crimson grass, Corrupt Jungle grass(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), and Crimson Jungle grass(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions). Deathweed can be harvested with virtually any weapon or tool, and can be planted manually using Deathweed Seeds in Clay Pots and Planter Boxes(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), or on suitable soil tiles.

Deathweed blooms during a Blood Moon or a full moon (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) at nighttime (7:30 PM to 4:29 AM). Its blooming is indicated by the pulsating purple glow. Harvesting blooming Deathweed yields 1 Deathweed item and 1–3 Deathweed Seeds. Harvesting mature or blooming Deathweed with the Staff of Regrowth or Axe of Regrowth(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) yields 1–2 Deathweeds and 1–5 Deathweed Seeds instead. Note that these tools can only directly harvest mature stage herbs planted on soil; see Herbs § Growth for details.

Both Deathweed and Deathweed Seeds have a chance to be obtained from the Herb Bag(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).

Tips

  • The bloom time window for Deathweed always matches the Zoologist's werefox transformation, i.e. the latter can be used as an indicator of all Deathweed being in the bloom state.
