Notes

  • The Dune Splicer is noticeably larger than other worms, ranging from 12 to 21 segments long.
  • The Dune Splicer is very agile, and can turn very quickly. This can be especially dangerous due to the Dune Splicer's large hitbox.
  • During a Sandstorm, the Dune Splicer becomes the second fastest worm in the game, only beaten by the Phantasm Dragon.

Tips

  • Aiming for the head may help in defeating Dune Splicers quicker, as it has less defense than the body or tail.

Trivia

  • It is the largest non-boss worm-type enemy in the game.
  • Dune Splicers may be inspired by the sandworms in the Dune franchise. This is further reinforced by their Bestiary entry, as a substance called "the spice" is an important commodity in the Dune series.
  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Dune Splicer: "The world's largest, most deadly worm. Strengthened by ancient magicks, it can devour a spicy Terrarian quicker than they realize."
