The Flower of Fire is a pre-Hardmode, post-Skeletron wand that fires a slow, non-piercing fireball that can bounce off blocks up to five times. The fireball dissipates upon contact with an enemy, with a 1/2 (50%) chance to inflict the On Fire! debuff for a duration of 5 seconds. The Flower of Fire has a 1/5 (20%) chance of being obtained from Shadow Chests in The Underworld, and has a 1/5 (20%) chance of being found in Obsidian Lock Boxes obtained from Obsidian and Hellstone Crates.
Its best modifier is Mythical.
Notes
- Unlike other bouncing projectiles, the fireball can bounce off platforms.
- The Flower of Fire cannot be used while submerged in liquids and will not use mana. The projectile dissipates instantly on contact with water or honey.
- In Don't dig up and Get fixed boi worlds, the Flower of Fire receives the following changes:
- Swapped places with Unholy Trident. As a result, it is dropped by Red Devils instead of being found in Shadow Chests and Obsidian Lock Boxes.
- Damage increased from 48 to 85.
- Use time decreased from 16 to 12.
- Inflicts Hellfire instead of On Fire!.
- Sell value increased from 2 GC50 SC to 10 GC.
Trivia
- The Flower of Frost can be considered the Hardmode upgrade to the Flower of Fire.
- Similar to the Flower of Frost, the Flower of Fire is a reference to the Super Mario platform game series, in which the Fire Flower is a power-up that gives the player the ability to throw similar bouncing fireballs.
- The Wizard NPC hurls fireballs at enemies in his vicinity in a similar fashion to the Flower of Fire.
- The light produced by the fireball is red, while the light produced from the trail is white and the light from the explosion is orange.
