The Gravedigger's Shovel mining Dirt and attacking a Target Dummy.

The Gravedigger's Shovel is a tool that can be used to dig up "soft" blocks (see below) more efficiently than a pickaxe or drill, in a 3×3-tile rectangle centered on the cursor.

Its best modifier is Light for harvesting purposes and Legendary for combat purposes.

Affected blocks

The following types of blocks can be dug up with the Gravedigger's Shovel.[1] Note that in For the worthy and Get fixed boi worlds, all blocks only take half as many swings to break.

Notes

  • Although not having a listed pickaxe power, the Gravedigger's Shovel has an internal pickaxe power of 30%.[2] It can also benefit from mining speed bonuses.

Tips

Trivia

  • The tooltip, 'Can you dig it?', references a classic 50s and 60s slang phrase, which appears in many works then and since.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.0.5: Fixed an issue where, when digging, the Gravedigger's Shovel did not dig the center block at the same speed.
