The Gravedigger's Shovel mining Dirt and attacking a Target Dummy.

The Gravedigger's Shovel is a tool that can be used to dig up "soft" blocks (see below) more efficiently than a pickaxe or drill, in a 3×3-tile rectangle centered on the cursor.

Its best modifier is Light for harvesting purposes and Legendary for combat purposes.

  • In For the worthy worlds, all blocks take half as many swings to break.
  • The Gravedigger's Shovel has a tool speed of 14, the same as a Fossil Pickaxe.

  • The tooltip, 'Can you dig it?', references a classic 50s and 60s slang phrase, which appears in many works then and since.
  • The Gravedigger's Shovel is the only tool that mines blocks without having pickaxe power.
    • In source code, however, its base "pickaxe" power is 30%.[2]

  • Desktop Fixed an issue where, when digging, the Gravedigger's Shovel did not dig the center block at the same speed.
