The Gray Grunt is a Hardmode, post-Golem enemy commonly found during the Martian Madness event. While outwardly similar to most martian enemies, it is unique in that it is completely invulnerable to knockback. It appears to have grey skin and black eyes.

Trivia

• The Gray Grunt is modeled after the archetypal Gray alien, popularized by American conspiracy theorists after the interviews of Barney and Betty Hill and the Roswell UFO incident.
• Despite supposedly not carrying any weapons, as stated in their Bestiary entry, they can still drop the Charged Blaster Cannon, which implies that they are armed.

• The Bestiary entry for the Gray Grunt: "Martians are conscripted into military service, and those who do not make the cut are sent out unarmed to distract the enemy as fodder."
