The Baby Grinch's Mischief Whistle is a Hardmode, post-Plantera pet-summoning item that spawns a Baby Grinch to follow the player around. When the player is far enough away or in midair, a red balloon will carry the Baby Grinch to catch up with them. The Baby Grinch's Mischief Whistle is dropped by the Ice Queen during the Frost Moon event with a 1.11%–2.22% (3.33%–6.67%) chance depending on the current wave.[1]

Trivia

  • This item is a reference to the 1957 children story How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss, specifically from the live-action movie, which premiered in 2000. In the film, the first of several flashback scenes depicts the Grinch as a baby when deuteragonist Cindy Lou Who asks several of the local residents of Whoville about the Grinch's past.
