The Hellforge is a crafting station that functions as a regular Furnace, with the additional ability of smelting Hellstone into Hellstone Bars. It is also used to craft the essential Adamantite/Titanium Forge in Hardmode.

The Hellforge cannot be crafted, and is only found in Ruined Houses in the Underworld. It can only be collected from the Underworld with tools with at least 65% pickaxe power, i.e. a Deathbringer/Nightmare Pickaxe or better is required. It cannot be broken by explosives during pre-Hardmode.

Notes

  • When placed above the Underworld, a Hellforge can be mined with any pickaxe and can be broken by explosives even in pre-Hardmode.
  • The three blocks on which a Hellforge is placed can only be broken and actuated in Hardmode.
    • In pre-Hardmode above the Underworld, the blocks can be broken by explosives if the Hellforge is in the blast radius as well, but they remain indestructible otherwise. This can be seen when those three blocks are at the very edge of the blast radius, for instance.

    • Sprites updated. Previous item and placed sprites were Hellforge (old).png Hellforge (placed) (old).png
    • Now requires a pickaxe instead of a hammer to be mined.
    • Now used to craft the Titanium Forge.
