Notes
- Huge Dragon Eggs are highlighted by the Spelunker buff and are detected by the Metal Detector.[1]
- There is a limited number of Huge Dragon Eggs in each world that are placed during world generation, and more do not generate afterwards. This number is 6 in small worlds, 9 in medium worlds and 12 in large worlds.[2]
- They can only generate within the cavern layer, and not in the Underworld. In Remix worlds, they additionally cannot generate within the 150 tiles directly above the Underworld.
- They cannot generate within 100 tiles of the true left and right world borders.
- They can only generate in a spot if there are no other Huge Dragon Eggs within a 41×41-tile square centered on it.[3]
- They can only generate on top of the following blocks:[4]This refers only to the right of the two blocks below the Huge Dragon Egg. The type of the left one is ignored and may be anything else.
- The number of attempts made by the game to generate Huge Dragon Eggs is limited to 10,000.[2] As some of the attempts may fail (due to not meeting the conditions outlined above), this hard limit means it is possible that fewer than the maximum of 6/9/12 Huge Dragon Eggs are generated in a world.
Trivia
- This item, as well as its behavior, is a direct reference to the item with the same name in Palworld, in which Huge Dragon Eggs can appear in various areas and hatch into Pals.
