The Frozen Turtle Shell is a Hardmode accessory that has a 1/50 (2%) chance of being dropped by Ice Tortoises. While equipped, it grants the Ice Barrier buff, which provides +25% damage reduction while the player's health is at or below 50%. While the effect is active, it displays as a blue circle spinning around the player.

Trivia

  • Despite it being a Turtle Shell, it is dropped by the Ice Tortoise. It shares this trait with the Turtle Shell.
  • The buff can be canceled, although it will be activated again immediately while conditions are met.

History

  • Desktop 1.3.0.1:
    • Now grants 25% damage reduction instead of 30 defense.
    • Buff now triggers when player is at 50% health, instead of 25%.
