The KO Cannon attacking
Target Dummies. Note how it is possible to hit multiple enemies at once.
The KO Cannon is a Hardmode flail that autofires a red boxing glove projectile connected to the weapon's base by a short, thick chain. After striking a target or traveling 17 tiles, the glove retracts back into the weapon before being ready to fire again. On the Desktop version, Console version, and Mobile version, the KO Cannon has a 1/5 (20%) chance of being dropped by Clowns. On the Old-gen console version and Nintendo 3DS version, it has a 1/1000 (0.1%) chance to be dropped by any enemy during a Hardmode Blood Moon.
Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic. Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount.
Notes
- The KO Cannon has no cooldown period; therefore its autofire rate is dependent only on the distance to its impact, meaning that an enemy or object in close range will cause a faster autofire rate.
- Although technically a flail, the KO Cannon's projectile has no difficulty passing through terrain on its return trip.
- In Don't dig up(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) and Get fixed boi(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) worlds, the KO Cannon receives the following changes:
- Switched place with the Chain Knife. As a result, it is dropped by Cave Bats instead of Clowns.
- Damage decreased from 40 to 18.
- Use time decreased from 28 to 25.
- Knockback decreased from 6.5 to 5.
Tips
- Despite this weapon having a relatively short range, its higher knockback, base damage, and immunity to gravitational arcing make it very strong at close quarters.
- Although generally not able to strike multiple targets simultaneously, its rate of fire increases significantly when at closer ranges. Therefore, the player will find fending off hordes of enemies easier once they begin to close in due to its high knockback.
- (Old-gen console version) One of the easiest ways to obtain this item is to set up multiple Bunny Statues or Fish Statues connected to a 1 Second Timer. During the Blood Moon event, activate the timer and kill all spawned Bunnies. It is easiest to do this with a penetrating weapon, such as a Laser Rifle or any gun using Meteor Shot rounds. Another easy method is to use the Spiky Balls from the Goblin Tinkerer.
Trivia
- The Golem Fist can be considered a direct upgrade to this weapon.
- If aimed to the left, the "KO" on its side will be mirrored.
- KO is an abbreviation of knockout, a term originally used in boxing, which is also referenced by the boxing glove being fired.
History
- Desktop 1.4.4:

- Now makes a custom sound effect.
- Desktop 1.3.0.1:
- Damage increased from 35 to 40.
- Fixed a bug where the KO Cannon could drop from statue-spawned enemies.
