This is the Legacy page whose information relates to the article Hooks.
It applies only to the Old-gen console and 3DS versions of Terraria, detailing their differences from modern versions.

There are a total of 17 hooks, with two being only on the Old-gen console version Old-gen console version: the Slime Hook and Candy Cane Hook.

The Web Slinger reaches 15.625 tiles at maximum length and has the shortest range of any hook on these versions.

The Fish Hook has individual latching (like the Dual Hook) on these versions.

Notes

  • Grappling a platform or Minecart Track with only one hook will pull the player inside the platform or rail, meaning that they will always hit that platform/rail with subsequent grapples. The player will have to jump to dislodge the hook if this happens.
  • Nintendo 3DS version When the player first acquires a hook, a small tutorial box will pop up explaining how to use it.

Tips

  • Grappling onto a door and opening it while suspended allows the player to easily fly through with high speed, since doors open automatically when near one.
