マスターモード専用コンテンツ: マスターモードとマスターモードのワールドのみに適用されます

Wall of Fleshを倒すことで発動するハードモードと混同しないように。

Master Mode(マスターモード)は、ワールド作成時に選択できるオプションで、Journey modeの難易度スライダーでもオンにすることができます。エキスパートモード以上にゲームの難易度が上がるほか、マスターモード限定のアイテムも用意されています。マスターモードもエキスパートモードと同様に、マスターモードのワールドを作成した瞬間から開始され、Journey mode以外では変更できません。また、マスターモードでは敵のライフやダメージが大幅に増加します。

マスターモードでは、アクセサリースロットが1つ増えるので、Demon Heartで合計7つのアクセサリースロットを持つことができます。

エキスパートモードのコンテンツはすべてマスターモードでも利用可能です。

マスターモードでは、ボスを倒すことで集めることができるマスターモード専用の新アイテムである、ボスに勝利したことをアピールするための「Relic」、ペット、マウントなどが登場します。

敵

すべての敵はエキスパートモードと比較して、基本与ダメージが約50%増加します。例えば、Blue Slimeは6 - 8 / 12 - 16ではなく、防御力0のターゲットに対して1ヒットあたり18 - 24のダメージを与える。
すべての敵はエキスパートモードと比較して、ヘルスが約50%増加します。（通常モードの時の3倍）。例えば、Blue Slimeのヘルスは、25 / 50 / 75を持っています。
マスターモードのボスはヘルスが増加します。各ボスにはマスターモード用のヘルス倍率が設定されています。
ボスは自分のエキスパート値のダメージを50％増加させる。
マスターモードでハードモードに入ると、敵のヘルスと攻撃力が再び激増する(例：Blue Slimeのヘルスは411)

プレイヤー

プレイヤーは死亡時に50%/75%ではなく、全てのコインをドロップします。
マスターモードのワールドにいる間のみアクセサリースロットを1つ追加で獲得できます。これは「Demon Heart」と重ねて使用することで、最大で7つのスロットを獲得することができます。
被ダメージは50%/75%ではなく、プレイヤーの防御力の100%で軽減されます。

マスター専用アイテム

ボスはエキスパートモードと同様にマスターモード専用アイテムをドロップしますが、エキスパートモードのアイテムが入ったボスのTreasure Bagもドロップします。Journey modeでは、難易度スライダーがマスターに設定されている状態でボスを倒した場合、どの難易度でボスが出現したかに関わらず、マスターモードのアイテムがドロップします。

マスターモードのドロップには、新たにレアリティが追加されました。このレアリティはライトオレンジとダークオレンジの間で点滅します。

- ボスは100%の確率でボスに似た像「Relic」をドロップします。
- また、25%の確率でボスに似ているか、ボスに近いテーマのペット、light pet、マウントを召喚するアイテムをドロップします。
- さらに、Eye of Cthulhuは0x33's Aviatorsを落とす確率が100%です。
