The Moss Zombie is a pre-Hardmode enemy and a Zombie variant that spawns in a surface Graveyard mini-biome if the player has negative luck.

Notes

  • While in a surface Graveyard, the chance for a Moss Zombie to spawn instead of any other enemy is equal to the player's absolute luck value divided by 20 if the player has negative luck:[1]
[math]\displaystyle{ \frac{\left | \text{luck} \right |}{20} }[/math] if luck is < 0
Therefore, its spawn rates are rather low. At maximum negative luck of −1.1, the spawn chance is 5.5%.
  • Moss Zombies do not have their own dedicated banner; instead, they drop and are affected by the ordinary Zombie Banner.

Trivia

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Moss Zombie: "They say a rolling stone gathers no moss... but they didn't say anything about zombies."
