Mythril Bars are Hardmode bars made from Mythril Ore. They are necessary to make the Mythril Anvil, which in turn is needed to make most Hardmode equipment. Mythril Bar are the Orichalcum Bar's counterpart. The Mythril Drill and Mythril Pickaxe are the first tools acquired that are capable of harvesting all but two block types in the game (exceptions being Chlorophyte Ore and Lihzahrd Bricks).
On the Old-gen console version and Nintendo
version, Mythril Bars drop from Shadow Hammers.
To craft all Mythril equipment, the player needs to acquire (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 153 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 155 bars, or a total of (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 612 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 620 ores.

Notes
- Mythril Bars can be found within Mythril and Titanium Crates during Hardmode without the need of a drill or pickaxe.
- A Mythril Bar, which has a sell value of 44 SC, is made out of 4 Mythril Ore, each with a sell value of 11 SC. Therefore, if the player sells Mythril, it does not matter whether it is in bar or ore form.
Trivia
- Mithril is a fictional metal in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth writings, where it is a rare and high-quality material used for weapons and armor. It has become a widely used material in fantasy works, particularly video games.
- Mythril was first called "Mithril" in a teaser, but this spelling had to be changed, likely for legal reasons, as the name "Mithril" is trademarked by Tolkien's estate.[1]
