The Mythril Crate is a Hardmode crate that can be obtained by fishing in any biome, at any height. It is the middle tier of standard crate. Its pre-Hardmode counterpart is the Iron Crate.

Only one type of item out of all ores and bars can drop, not both a type of ore and a type of bar or any other combination of the four groups. The table above implies otherwise with the four groups being in separate rows, but that is for readability purposes. The chance that a type of ore or bar is dropped is 3/8 (37.5%).
A Mythril Crate will always contain at least one type of item from the first seven groups (or any but the last two groups) displayed in the loot table above. This means that at least one type of item from the following list will always drop from a Mythril Crate:

The Falcon Blade, Tartar Sauce, and Ginger Beard can only be obtained by opening Iron and Mythril Crates.
Hardmode bars do not have an even distribution. The chances of getting 3 or 7 bars are each half as likely as the chances for 4, 5, or 6 bars.

Desktop 1.4.4:
- Reduced quantity of dropped ores from 18–29 to 12–21.
- Reduced quantity of dropped pre-Hardmode bars from 6–9 to 4–7.
- Reduced quantity of dropped Hardmode bars from 5–9 to 3–7.
- Now used to craft the Iron Crate via shimmer.
