Pretty mirror in use against Target Dummies.

The Pretty Mirror is a consumable weapon that can be thrown at targets. The damage it deals is not classified as any of the four damage types and therefore cannot be modified by any buffs or equipment. The Pretty Mirror can be purchased from the Clothier while in a Graveyard for 1 GC. Upon breaking, the Pretty Mirror decreases luck by 0.25 for 7 minutes to all players within a 19.875×19.875-tile rectangular area centered on the point of impact.[1]

Notes

  • The Pretty Mirror's bad luck duration decays faster if the player is sleeping in a Bed or is speeding up time through Journey Mode.[2]
    • The duration does not decay at all if time is frozen through Journey Mode.
  • Getting hit by the Pretty Mirror's area of effect while already having its -0.25 luck effect will simply refresh its duration back to 7 minutes. It does not stack duration or amount of the bad luck given.[3]
  • The Pretty Mirror's bad luck is removed upon leaving the world, but not upon death.
  • The Pretty Mirror's area of effect does not deal any damage to enemies. It only deals damage upon direct hits.

Trivia

  • The seven minutes of negative luck provided by the Pretty Mirror is likely a reference to how, in ancient Rome, breaking a mirror was said to give seven years of bad luck.
