Prospector armor is a Hardmode armor set consisting of the Prospector Helmet, Prospector Shirt, and Prospector Pants.

The full set grants the following effects while equipped:

• +33 defense
• +30% mining speed
• The player emits a small amount of light.

All Prospector armor pieces are interchangeable with pieces from the Mining armor and the Ultrabright Helmet, still providing the set bonus. The only difference is the defense.

Tips

• Since only one helmet can be worn at a time, the player must choose between the Prospector Helmet and Ultrabright Helmet when upgrading their Mining Helmet. The Prospector Helmet offers 6 more defense (10 vs. 4, or 33 vs. 27 for the entire set with Prospector Shirt/Pants), but does not provide the visibility-increasing effects of the Night Vision Helmet. Even with the Ultrabright Helmet, the set's defense is still comparable with Mythril armor. It is also worth noting that the Ultrabright Helmet is available sooner, since the enemies that drop the Night Vision Helmet spawn in pre-Hardmode.
