The Rod of Harmony is a Hardmode, post-Moon Lord tool. It is the direct upgrade to the Rod of Discord, instantly teleporting the player to the location of the cursor when used, but without inflicting the Chaos State debuff.

It is obtained by throwing the Rod of Discord into Shimmer after the Moon Lord has been defeated.

  • The Rod of Harmony's teleport range is limited to 60 tiles horizontally and 37.5 tiles vertically from the player's center.
  • Before defeating Plantera, the Rod of Harmony cannot teleport the player to any location that is below the surface and has an unsafe Lihzahrd Brick Wall as background wall. In Don't dig up and Get fixed boi worlds, this restriction extends above the surface.[1]
  • The target location must be at least 3 tiles high and 2 tiles wide. Pressing the ⚒ Use / Attack button will always place the player's feet at the cursor position. Thus, in order to teleport into a 3-tile-high opening, the player must aim at the floor. Unsuccessful teleports still play the same sound effect.
    • While riding a mount, the target location must usually be higher, depending on the mount's height. For instance, while riding the Unicorn Mount, the location must be 5 tiles high.

Trivia

  • Prior to 1.2.1.2, the Rod of Discord did not inflict the Chaos State debuff, and thus functioned identically to the Rod of Harmony. The latter may be a nod to the predecessor.
