The Shark Bait is a pet-summoning item that summons a pet Shark Pup. When underwater, the Shark Pup swims around freely. When out of water, it is encased in a bubble. When the player is too far away, the Shark Pup will move swiftly toward them. The Shark Bait has a 1/2 (50%) chance of being found in Water Chests and a 1/10 (10%) chance of being found in Ocean and Seaside Crates.

Trivia

  • The pet and the tooltip are a reference to the viral YouTube video and children's song "Baby Shark".
  • The sprite and name may be a reference to the 2003 American computer-animated movie Finding Nemo. The sprite resembles a clownfish, and "Shark Bait" is a nickname given to Nemo in the movie.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.4: Changed from primary to secondary loot in Water Chests and crates.
