Shiverthorn is a type of herb which appears as an icy-blue flower. It grows naturally on Snow and Ice Blocks of any type. Shiverthorn can be harvested with virtually any weapon or tool, and can be planted manually using Shiverthorn Seeds in Clay Pots and Planter Boxes, or on suitable soil tiles.

Shiverthorn blooms randomly, and unlike other herbs, remains bloomed permanently thereafter. Its blooming is indicated by a glowing particle effect. Harvesting blooming Shiverthorn yields 1 Shiverthorn item and 1–3 Shiverthorn Seeds. Harvesting mature or blooming Shiverthorn with the Staff of Regrowth or Axe of Regrowth yields 1–2 Shiverthorns and 1–5 Shiverthorn Seeds instead. Note that these tools can only directly harvest mature stage herbs planted on soil; see Herbs § Growth for details.

Both Shiverthorn and Shiverthorn Seeds have a chance to be obtained from the Herb Bag.
