Spooky armor is a Hardmode, post-Plantera armor set. Crafting the full set requires a total of 750 Spooky Wood.

The set consists of the Spooky Helmet, Spooky Breastplate, and Spooky Leggings.

A full set of Spooky armor provides the following bonuses:

• (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) +30 defense / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 27 defense
• (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) +4 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 3 minion slots
• +58% summon damage
• +20% movement speed

Equipping the full set increases the player's minion capacity by 4 (to a total of 5), along with granting +58% summon damage and creating a glowing effect around the player.

Notes

• Stat-wise, Spooky armor is roughly tied with Tiki armor, and beaten by Stardust armor(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions). While Spooky armor has noticeably higher bonus damage compared to Tiki armor, this comes at the cost of 5 defense and (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) a 30% increase to whip range / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) one additional minion.

Tips

• If combined with the Necromantic Scroll, Hercules Beetle, Summoner Emblem and Papyrus Scarab, the resulting minions will get a total of 113% increased damage.
• With an exchange rate of 50 CC per unit of Spooky Wood, crafting and selling Spooky Helmets is the most efficient way to convert Spooky Wood into coins.
• The Spooky Leggings increase walking movement speed from 15 mph to 18 mph. However, if the player already has boots equipped (e.g. Hermes Boots), the Leggings' movement speed will not have that noticeable an increase to the player's movement speed.

Trivia

• The only difference between male and female sets of Spooky armor seems to be the orange/red markings on the upper breastplate.
• Spooky armor is both the strongest (even in terms of defense) and most expensive armor that is crafted with a form of wood.
• The Moon Lord's screen effect causes the Spooky armor to lose its orange/red markings.

History

 Desktop version

• Desktop 1.4.4: Tooltips of summon-related items now say "summon damage" instead of "minion damage".

• Desktop 1.4.0.1:
  • Overall defense increased from 27 to 30, with each piece gaining 1 defense.
    • Spooky Helmet defense increased from 8 to 9.
    • Spooky Breastplate defense increased from 10 to 11.
    • Spooky Leggings defense increased from 9 to 10.
  • Spooky Breastplate now gives +2 minion count instead of +1.
  • Spooky Leggings now give 20% movement speed.
