Trivia
Ok, do we want to mention what an aglet is, since it is a somewhat odd word? --JonTheMon 16:18, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

- We make these articles not about their real-life counterparts, but about the in-game items. For example, we don't explain what a pickaxe is on every pickaxe page. If someone really cares that much about knowing what an aglet is they can get a dictionary or something.--Cobaltcakes 16:23, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

- I agree. Everyone knows what a pickaxe is, but a doubt anyone knows what an aglet is. I say put the definition in there. --fso

- Telling people that the plumber outfit resembles Mario is random trivia that has nothing to do with the game as well. And I think at least 50% of the population would know what a mandible and obsidian are, and the 20% that ever saw Xena know what a Chakrum is. I would be surprised if 1% knew what an aglet is. Seriously, what does it hurt to put it in?--fso
- It takes up space and looks pretty unprofessional. I have no idea what Xena is, nor will many other people, and I never knew Obsidian existed before Minecraft, and the same with Chakrum, but with this game. As for Mandible, younger players in low grade science classes won't know what that is, I don't even think you're supposed to know it until high school. - Every piece of trivia in this wiki is 'unprofessional' by nature. This is an interesting piece of TRIVIA related to the object itself. A player can figure out what a chakrum is by using it, or what a mandible is by looking at it. They would have no idea what an aglet is by looking at it or using it. When people read this page for it, they can have an aha moment - 'so that's what an aglet is!' It doesn't detract from the page, it enhances it.--fso
- Think of it from a typical user perspective. What does a user coming to this page expect? In this case, I think no less than half of users coming to this page are probably wondering what the heck an "aglet" is supposed to be (personally, I had it mixed up with a capo). It's esoteric enough that they might not realize it's even a real-life item and that they could look it up in a dictionary. Not to disparage your own knowledge, but I think a wide majority of children know what a mandible is, and the word obsidian is about as well-known simply because its color is used frequently in description. We have a note about what Cthulhu is and who vanity outfits reference, this falls into the same category. Also, note that we seem to have more users in favor of adding it than not. - It definitely deserves a place in the trivia section as it is something people say all the time as a piece of trivia. I can guarantee the admins put it in because the knowledge of what an aglet is is so very little known. How about a question that matters, does the bonuses from two of these aglets equipped on one character stack?

Crate chance
Shouldn't it state that there is a 1/225 (0.44%) chance to drop from Wooden Crates, and not 1/45? If there is a 1/45 chance to get a surface chest accessory, and there are 5 possible accessories, would that decrease the chance of getting the Aglet by 80%? Crate chance discrepancy
This article states that theres a 1% chance that an aglet drops from a wooden crate. However, the article on the wooden crate says that its a 5% drop chance. Can someone check which number is accurate? YLBSGirl (talk) 19:46, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
