Amount of Bees/Hornet

"Upon impact, it breaks, releasing two or three Bees and sometimes a Hornet as well."
Does the Bee Hive (item) actually have a change to spawn a hornet?
And does the amount of Bees released change over the different modes? (Normal, Expert, and Master) UselessNumbers (talk) 02:47, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

It looks like the Hornet was actually removed back in 1.4.0.1, but the change went unnoticed (I've updated the page now). Also, the amount doesn't change depending on the mode - the base amount is 2, with three separate 1/3 chances to increase it by 1. --Eraloiz (talk) 09:11, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks! This may be a weird question, but, between the 1.4.1 - 1.4.1.2 update, the bees could attack through invincibility frames, even going through things like golem's first phase, lunatic cultists Mysterious tablet and even the moon lord. Not recoverable

Under Notes - Bee Hives are not recoverable, and cannot be placed in the player's inventory.
Is it just me being dumb or can they now be placed into the player's inventory, (The 1.4.1 update) or is it just to keep the 1.3 stuff alive, or is it just for some platforms, but it doesn't have the icon UselessNumbers (talk) 23:45, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

This is still true, even with the changes of 1.4.1. As soon as you place a Bee Hive, you cannot get it back in item form, because if you try to mine it, it falls and breaks. This is similar to other traps like the Boulder and Rolling Cactus. I've clarified this in the article. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:37, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
