Bug - can anyone confirm?
1.2.2, when mining the jungle chest in the dungeon with the Deathbringer Pickaxe, frozen chests are dropped. This could be exploited to farm cash. CDarklock (talk) 03:13, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
Doesn't only contain the Vampire Knives

This is most likely just normal chest loot. In all chests, there will be a main item (in this case the vampire knives), in some cases, a secondary item, and other items, like potions and coins. Based on the pic, you have appeared to have gotten a hallowed(?) bar, which would be an appropriate “low-level” chest bar that might be found in Biome Chests. It could also be just normal chest loot filtered into the Crimson Chest; I don’t know for sure. Swilloughby1 (talk) 22:15, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
"ln" equation
Under the Tips section, it mentions the equation:
ln(1-[%chance in decimal (70% = .7 etc...)])/ln(1-[drop chance])

Chest glitch
I once found a unlocked frozen chest in a heart cave located in the surface snow biome. Could this be a glitch? It still contains the normal ice chest loot. 58.33.91.15 03:11, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- It's not a glitch. On Mobile, unlocked Frozen Chests are found in Heart Shrines. – Ferretwings (talk) 03:24, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- The fact that it was found on the surface instead of underground is indeed a bug. Zsashas (talk) 03:48, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- According to the wiki, Heart Shrines can occur at any depth, even in the surface layer. – Ferretwings (talk) 01:22, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
Loot
Loot is not clearly stated anywhere. Should a 'Loot' section be created on this page, specifying loot for each Biome Chest? Diamondcat6746 (talk) 22:39, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- The "Types" section already has all the important loot listed in the table, and minor loot listed as links below the table. At the moment, I don't think any more than a link is necessary, as by the time players are able to open the biome chests, the common items will be mostly useless. – KM100 (talk) 15:34, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
Hallowed Biome Chest
Is the hallowed biome chest spawned after hardmode or pre-hardmode? Lepspring (talk) 15:43, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- Biome Chests are generated with the world; this means that you can find all of them on your first visit to the Dungeon. However, you need the Hardmode Biome keys to open them. Bame66 (talk) 17:11, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- ALL Biome Chests (including the Hallowed one) are created and placed during world generation (when you first create your world). They can all be found in the Dungeon before Hardmode. In fact, it would be wise to map out all their locations pre-Hardmode, as the Dungeon becomes much more dangerous in Hardmode. – Ferretwings (talk) 20:35, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
Snow Chest In Pre-Hardmode

Obtaining Biome Chest Loot Pre-Plantera
I know that there is a chest glitch where players can actuate blocks off underneath filled chests to break them. Does that apply to locked Biome Chests? If so, will they drop their loot? Swilloughby1 (talk) 22:05, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
Pre-hardmode or hardmode?
I think that they are pre hardmode Because they are already there before hard mode so they are hard mode, please add to this post to share your thoughts.
