Statues

"The player could also use Blood Zombie or Drippler statues. However, the drop rates are greatly reduced for all statues." Is this actually true? I'm trying to farm right now, and after tens of thousands of kills, I haven't gotten a single Bloody Tear. Sounds likely that the statue mobs have the same loot pool as in pre-1.4 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Westbahnhof (talk • contribs) at 08:56, 23 May 2020

  • i also am having an issue trying to get one of these. i have killed 20000+ of these things from a statue, and experienced 3 natural blood moons and farmed during them to no avail. i have also killed the Bridge/Groom hundreds of times and never gotten one from them either. i've been thinking its a bugged item or something--Wersiv (talk) 03:52, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
  • i gave up with the statue spawned ones. but after farming i think my 6th blood moon i finally got a tear to drop. still seems like some kind of bug because statistically i should have over a hundred of the things by now according to the drop rates on the wiki--Wersiv (talk) 02:10, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
  • I checked the game code (version 1.4.0.4), and I can confirm that the Bloody Tear will not drop from statue-spawned enemies. Specifically, the game requires these three conditions be met for an enemy to be able to drop a Bloody Tear:
  1. It is currently night,
  2. It is a Blood Moon, and
  3. The monster in question was not spawned from a statue. - - Fistsh (talk) 03:07, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
  • Fistsh is the man. anyone know if they disappear during the daytime? during all my blood moon farming sessions ive just been afk and i dont usually check the drops until daytime and i am still not finding any more tears. --Wersiv (talk) 02:06, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
    • I'm pretty sure that no drops just disappear come daytime. I skimmed the code, and didn't find anything related to this. What's probably happened to you is one of two things - either [a] you've gotten quite unlucky and none have dropped (they're rare! it's by no means guaranteed that you'll get any during a Blood Moon), or [b] you've let too many drops accumulate, so the older ones started despawning - see Items#Despawning.
