Tree Nymph Butterflies

What's the deal with tree nymph butterflies? I don't think I've ever seen one of those even though I've seen all the other types plenty of times. Do they have special spawn conditions? --66.214.76.114 06:51, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

I've gotten them before, probably a total of about 3 times. There are no special conditions that I'm aware of -- they're just very rare. Equazcion ^(talk) 13:32, 4 Nov 2014 (UTC)

Moonglow and butterflies

There has been a recent addition to the page from User:Yashajeria200215:
"In console edition, you can attempt to plant moonglow seeds on normal mud blocks, and this may spawn a butterfly. This was discovered by accident, while attempting to make a moonglow farm. (this edit is currently untested by its author, and may simply be an error in coding)"
and a while back I reverted an edit from 76.84.212.232 that added:
"PLEASE NOTE: if not planted correctly, the seeds will release butterflies when 'planted'."
which seemed like a troll edit to me at the time. Some later edits from that ip suggest that editor has ps3 version.
I don't have console version so I can't verify anything, but on pc, moonglow seeds can only be planted on jungle grass, not plain mud. I also purely by accident have read a post on TCF that makes me think that both these edits could be related to that bug.
Now, I can't say anything about validity of either edit, but if this one is valid, someone should probably undo my revert on the moonglow page. 86.115.19.146 09:57, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Prismatic Lacewing

Should the Prismatic Lacewing be added to the list of butterflies? It uses Butterfly AI, looks like a butterfly, and is even listed under the butterfly section of the Critters page. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.Pillowofpotatoyay (talk) 21:10, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

Info request clarification

With regard to this info request: There is already a sentence at the bottom of the Notes section about what happens when attempting to catch a Hell Butterfly with a Bug Net, analogous to Magma Snail and Lavafly (last intro sentences there). Ah, I didn't notice it and assumed it was missing from the page. It is indeed what I meant. I've moved it to the intro so that it matches those pages, it fits better there in my opinion. Sorry for the confusion! SlabFoot20 (talk) 21:59, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
