Stops working periodically

Every 150 or so "turns" of the driller it stops working until you reclick the mouse button, but as useal, need confirmation from someone else aswell. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Faya4061 (talk • contribs) at 02:39, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

I can confirm this, but it was around 125 for me. Only tested the cobalt drill, the only one I have so far. And please, sign your comments by putting --~~~~ at the end. --190.55.92.154 03:10, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
Well actually it is not the number of blocks. After 1 minute of pressing the mouse button the drill will stop, mining or not.So it is either sort of an anomaly as in overheating or a bug. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Faya4061 (talk • contribs) at 10:14, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Unobtainable Lunar drills?

Do you think it's okay to list the unobtainable Lunar drills (e.g. the Solar Flare Drill in here)? goldenapple (talk) 17:58, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Orichalcum Drill mining speed

Is the Orichalcum Drill's mining speed really 10? Its pickaxe equivalent is listed with a mining speed of 8, and it does look like an outlier on File:Pickaxes.svg. --CyberShadow WA (talk) 14:27, 7 May 2019 (UTC)

Looking at the 1.3.5.3(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) source code, I can confirm the tool speed is 10. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 19:37, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. In this case, probably it should be made clear that at least in this case, drills differ from their pickaxe equivalent by more than visuals and possible prefixes. --CyberShadow WA (talk) 19:48, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
I added a note, thank you for the suggestion! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 20:23, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

Stardust Drill lists +1 range and 1 Mining speed even though is says +2 range in-game and likely has identical mining speed as other lunar drills

This could be a remnant of when Lunar Drills were unobtainable and the stat was simply different for some reason. I'd change it myself, but I have no clue how to edit the table the drill is listed in, looks way too advanced for me. This is me putting in a notice for someone more adept than me to edit the Drills page with correct Stardust Drill information. Endecc (talk) 09:53, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

The drills' (and chainsaws') mining speed wrong?

Besides the Stardust Drill's speed should be the same as other luminite drills, the mining speed of all drills (as well as chainsaws) seems 1 lower than what I tested in game. (for example, the Luminite Drills' mining speed should be 3 rather than 2).

Shouldn’t the Shroomite Digging Claw be on this page?

The Shroomite Digging Claw has better use time than drills, has a -1 range modifier, like most drills, and it’s basically a direct upgrade to the Drax. FluffyDragon728 (talk) 01:16, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

I could argue that it isn't. Drills are characterized by lower range and higher speed, but their defining trait is the direct projectile that digs, not a swinging motion. The Digging Claw swings, making it a pickaxe - the range is simply a unique aspect. Take for example the Laser Drill - it's got long range, high power and slow speed, but it isn't a pickaxe (although this is a bad comparison, and it doesn't seem like a drill either, though it is a drill.) --2057clones (talk) 01:29, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

Someone should go over all the drill pages and unify their descriptions

For an archetype of tool, the information given is kinda all over the place. Some pages have a best reforge that mentions "as it does not have any knockback and thus cannot get modifiers that affect it, and furthermore cannot get modifiers that affect its speed, either" but the Chlorophyte Drill just says "Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount." despite both pieces of information applying to all drills. I also found general drill information that I had to move from the Mythril Drill page (It was only in the Mythril Drill age) to the general Drill page. I tried my hand at mentioning the speed increase, but I'm sure it can be cleaned up still. ImmortalZypther (talk) 02:09, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
