Full moons

Is it just me, or does full moon nights make fallen stars drop a lot more frequent? Has anyone else noticed this? --Eplemosen 13:43, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Dispute

"Fallen stars deal 1000 damage on impact to both players and enemies. This is a rare event, but highly satisfying when it does occur."

There is still a highly scientific debate occurring of whether or not it is in fact highly satisfying or just mildly satisfying to watch someone (or yourself for the sadomasochists) getting smashed by a falling star. We should note this is an ongoing dispute to avoid neutrality issues. -Shadowclaimer 16:36, 23 May 2011 (UTC) (PS this is a joke talk post)

As of recently seven freinds and I observed a falling star smash right into my character. Much laughter was recorded after, there seems to be at least a Pearsons Correlation coefficient of +.99 on the effect of a star falling onto a friend, and the amount of laughter then released from all of the surrounding participants. -Thanatos15:17, 23 May 2011 (PS this is not a joke!=)

I can safely say I've had so many close calls on falling stars, I watched two of them narrowly miss my brother while he was sitting there trading items with me. I couldn't stop laughing. -Shadowclaimer 12:27, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Fallen Star Damage is Incorrect

Fallen stars do not deal 1000 damage. I have personally seen a fallen star hit an enemy, it deals 9999 damage. This entire terraria wiki is full of incorrect information. Someone needs to go through and revise it all.

Sorry but you are wrong, they deal 1000 damage. I've seen it happen during boss fights and I've looked at the code. --GauHelldragon 07:19, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
I just saw a falling star hitting a zombie for 1097 damage. Taking the defense of the zombie in account that means the falling star did 1100 damage. (This happened in v1.0.6.1) --Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.89.173.95 (talk • contribs)
I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed. There's a 15% variance on almost all damage values. It's probably not all that foolish to assume that this includes Fallen Stars. --Lunboks 20:37, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

I saw a fallen star hit a bunny and do 1080 damage. And all critters (accept corrupt and vicious ones) have 0 defense. IndigoGolum (talk) 21:46, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

um.... LUCKY STARS???

i witnessed a fallen star land right bellow my spawn, like one block bellow where it fell, it was RIGHT bellow my charectors feet at least, i was like "what?" this was weird becuase it was right at my spawn and i witnessed the fallen star fall right by it, of course my spawn point wasnt set, but still, THAT WAS SO WEIRD yet at the same time SO AWESOME! has anyone else witnessed this happen and by chance do you have a screenshot of such an event?

Veryify Star Cannon bug?

Can anyone verify that proper equipment selection can result in a Star Cannon actually leaving Fallen Stars behind to be gathered? It seems like a rumor designed to make a lot of people waste time reforging... -- TechpriestMagos 04:10, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

I've seen this happen online, but that may have been a hack. Anyway with the decreased damage of the star cannon you can get a base damage of 100 (assuming you didn't hack the 'Ruthless' prefix on the star cannon.). So it is no longer possible. --Icke 20:50, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

It is now impossible to reach over 100 damage with the star cannon (which would cause it to leave the stars). The most you can get is 98. Hacking prefixes onto items no longer works if the item cannot get that prefix through the reforge system. They've stepped up their in-game security well. Icke, I'd like to know what your setup is that gives you 100 base damage. I can only get up to 98. I have all menacing accs including ranger emblem, a demonic star cannon, ranged hallow set, and an archer potion. --Ecksplisit

Necro Greaves and Necro Breastplate --Icke 18:38, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Nope use Adamantite Breastplate instead of the Hallowed Plate Mail

I know this is old, but in once my friend was using the star cannon in the underworld (against the wall of flesh), and later I came by and there were lots of stars of the bridge. 73.4.114.147 14:49, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Stars can go through doors?

It fell through my door... bug?

how do you quickly get stars?

Verify duplication bug

From the notes section: "If a stack of Fallen stars is sold and then rebought bij [sic] holding right click, it will duplicate…". I can't reproduce this or find any references to it elsewhere. -- anonymous 22:36, 03 Feb 2014 (UTC)

Trivia section

Since the trivia doesn't include any actual information, couldn't it just be removed? Unless what it says is still true for console or mobile version(s), in which case it could tell you that. VonHabsburg (talk) 18:23, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

It's still true in the mobile version. Some editors are a little overzealous in adding new information and often aren't familiar with the wiki standard so you get things like this. I don't know why they would've crossed it out instead of removing it, though. Regardless, I've changed the page. Thank you for pointing this out- it likely wouldn't have been caught otherwise. Duplicate super mana potion crafting table

This potion and the way it is crafted is said twice in "all versions" and "console and mobile versions" whereas it is exactly the same information in both sections. The second duplicate must be removed from the page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.122.170.97 at 15:00, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. It's fixed now. – Ferretwings (talk) 23:10, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

Information for crafting Mana Crystals is incorrect.

On my Xbox 360 version of Terraria, It actually costs 10 Fallen Stars to craft a Mana crystal. I asked my friend, and they said it cast 5, but they play on mobile. I don't know if it is just my Xbox, or if the wiki saying that the Old-gen console version costs 10 Fallen Stars to craft a Mana crystal is incorrect.

It used to cost 5, but now costs 3. I don't know whats up with your game. IndigoGolum (talk) 21:47, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
