Golf Score

I'm not certain the golf score calculation is correct. I've just shot my second hole-in-one using the hellevator trick (~2700 block fall) and the golfer is selling his bronze trophy. According to the given equation, my score should be much less than 500. Could someone verify the equation is correct? It also doesn't work when I change tiles to feet (x2). (edit) I've made my third hole-in-one and the silver items are available. After my fourth, no change. My fifth was actually a two-stroke sink, but nevertheless, I was able to buy the gold trophy. CompuGenetics (talk) 20:01, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Request for source code divers

Hello editors; much of the Golfer's stock is based upon an in-game statistic called golfScore. I am unsure how it is calculated, since in real life golf scores are better if low. However, his trades require that the golf score be higher than some value (i.e. 2000). If anyone is able to decipher the code, found in the package Terraria.GameContent.Golf, it would be much appreciated. Breathlessblizzard (talk) 00:31, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

I've looked into the code and added the scoring mechanics, though now I have a couple questions score farming: Would it be better to create winding courses with multiple long-range shots or an easy hole-in-one across a massive distance? And can the Portal Gun (edit: or teleporters) be used to easily score a hole-in-one across opposite corners of the map? For the former I imagine long distance hole-in-ones would be better, for the latter I don't yet have a character/world setup that could test that. Even then, I don't know any way of checking the character's current golf score. Jakkor699 (talk) 13:49, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Fast High Score

You can easily get all the golfer items unlocked by placing the golf cup at the bottom of the hellvator and putting the golf ball from the top a few times. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nyambtams (talk • contribs) at 07:33, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Is Golf score separated by world or player?

Golf score is kept track of by the character. Citalias2 (talk) 13:57, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Block Property data mine request.

I'm wondering if we could get some more info on blocks and their properties for golf. How many different properties are there for blocks in relation to how they interact with golfballs? I assume there's only a few categories. Could we get a full list of blocks and what golfball interaction properties they have? Maybe some hard numbers on how they interact with golfballs? --107.2.104.203 20:08, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Further effects of Golf Score

Wow, It's been a long time since I've used a talk page. Anyways, I believe it should be mentioned in the article that Golf Score does affect more than just the Golfer's inventory. I'm not entirely sure of everything it affects, but at the bare minimum, I DO know it adds the football to the Party Girl's shop inventory. I don't think a long explanation is necessary but a small mention when it talks about the Golfer's inventory expanding based on your score might be worth noting. Like I said, I'm not sure how much it affects, as I haven't played vanilla Terraria in ages until a few days ago. Someone with a bit more knowledge (or just a better memory) might want to slip that in. Mrqsandas (talk) 11:20, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Looking at the Desktop version Desktop 1.4.3.6 source code, it only affects the Golfer's inventory and quotes, the availability of the Football as you said, and the availability of the Hunter Cloak. I've added this to the article, thanks for mentioning! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 23:59, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
