I watched someone lower the mana reduction so low that anything that costs 4 mana now costs 0 could someone please show this on the page? 71.56.215.73 17:37, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Theoretical maximum mana

At the top of the page, it says that (in theory) the maximum mana attainable is 480. I know it caps out in-game at 400, but some basic addition only got my potential max up to 440.

  • 200 Base
  • 100 Hallowed Headgear
  • 40 Arcane Band of Starpower
  • 20 Arcane Accessory 2
  • 20 Arcane Accessory 3
  • 20 Arcane Accessory 4
  • 20 Arcane Accessory 5
  • 20 Clairvoyance buff

All together that makes 440, not 480. So where's the last 40 coming from? Am I missing a buff or something? Wanabeswordsman 15:20, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Yes. The jungle shirt and pants. This is al written in the comments of each edited version of this page.--EstebanLB 22:42, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Mana regen rate

The mana regen rate is as following: (Current maximum mana / 30) + 1 mana regenerated per second. I don't know how to add that to the text neatly so can someone do it for me. (Formula got straight from game source code.) --Demian 09:59, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

List

Should we list down the things which use mana (items/spells)? - Spinfx 03:31, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

3.5 Second Rule

The '5 second rule' seems more like a 3.5 second rule to me. Dunno if it might be different with different circumstances. Aru 21:22, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Items that consume Mana

This section seems a bit redundant, seeing that the exact same information is already contained in the very first sentence of the page. Would it be okay to just remove it? --Toxik 18:45, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Mana regeneration formula

So, I analyzed the formula from the decompiled source code. It's fairly convoluted. I'm not completely sure I calculated everything correctly, but here are the results:

First, there is a short delay after using a magic weapon during which mana doesn't regenerate at all. Depending on how full your mana bar is, it ranges from about 3.3s (empty) to 0.5s (full). Standing still or equipping Mana Regeneration Band halves the delay, doing both reduces it to 1/3rd. If you're under effect of Mana Regeneration Potion, however, the delay is always about 0.18s, or 0.12s if using the Band.

After the delay mana starts regenerating with speed dependent on your current and total mana: when your mana is empty, you regenerate 7.4% of your total mana per second if standing still or under the potion, or 3.3% otherwise. There is also a negligible bonus of 0,12 mana per second that, however, increases to 3 mana when using the Band.

If your mana bar is partially full, regeneration speed is linearly increased: doubled at 25%, tripled at 50% and multiplied by five at full. When under the potion the bar is always considered full.

So the maximum mana regeneration speed would be about 163 mana per second with max mana, the potion, and the band. The delay will prevent 18 mana from regenerating for each spellcast. Without the band it will be 148.5, and you also miss additional 9 mana per cast due to delay. --15:55, 28 April 2014 (UTC) --Preceding (partially) unsigned comment added by 95.221.24.193 (talk • contribs) 15:55, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Interesting info, I reckon it'd contribute well to the article if it was incorporated somehow. I've noticed the part about mana regeneration being based on remaining mana myself in-game; nice to see some precise numbers on it. Thanks for figuring this stuff out :-) Also, comments can be signed with ~~~~ NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 22:42, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Any way to start without mana?

I want to start the game with a friend, and the fact that you unlocked mana at a later point in the game, was a huge thing for me. Now when i start a new character, it instantly has mana, and there are low level spells or wands in the game. I have googled everywhere, but i can't seem to find a way to disable this stuff. If anyone knows a way, maybe a mod, to change mana back to how it used to be, please add this to the page or add something to this "discussion".— Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.130.209.68 at 21:00, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

You will spawn in with one star of mana, there is no old way, and the fact that spawn with one mana star is perfectly normal, so do not fret if you do not think this is normal. Max Mana

As it turns out, mana on the PC version caps out at 400, so the page for mana has an inaccuracy in saying that the max you can obtain is 600. I don't know if I am the only one to know this or not, but before a change to the page occurs, I request that someone would go and test it for themselves, and maybe someone could test it on the mobile version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.219.137.214 at 25 December 2016

Star in a bottle buff

There is no explanation about this buff either in the article or in the discussion. What is the role of that buff and what does it changes ? Does it reduces the delay before the mana restarts to regenerate, does it improve the mana regeneration or both ?

The buff isn't even included in the formulas which means something is probably missing in them (unless it adds a value to the "bonus" factor)

Also, is this buff stackable with the mana regeneration band ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.81.232.194 at 23:24, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

The Star in a Bottle increases "manaRegenBonus", meaning mana will recharge (and start to recharge) faster. And yes, it does stack with the Mana Regeneration Band. I'll add it to the page. – KM100 (talk) 02:10, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Gypsy Ropes

Gypsy Robes aren't on the list of things that affect mana, yet reduce mana usage by 10%, and have a set bonus of 60 mana, someone who knows how to format please fix.
