Climbing walls

Can you actually "climb" walls with this? I have a pair made, you can stick to a wall and you can slide down, but you have to hop your way up to go up, or am I missing something? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Norek (talk • contribs) at 14:30, 20 October 2013 (UTC).

That is true. To "climb" walls, the player has to continuously move towards it while jumping. The same applies to the precursor Tiger Climbing Gear. --186.136.108.121 02:10, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
As the item doesn't actually grant that ability, it's misleading to have it in the description. Otherwise one could claim any sort of secondary effect on a number of other items e.g. "Flying Carpet prevents fall damage", which it actually doesn't, because it requires you to activate it briefly just before landing. Same case here: this item doesn't grant any sort of climbing ability, that comes as a side effect of repeatedly clinging then jumping higher. - Spinfx (talk) 08:39, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
The main reason for the use of the word "climb" was almost certainly the use of Tiger Climbing Gear. I guess one could argue that the intended function of the gear is to stick to and "climb" walls in this way, warranting the use of the phrase, but ultimately it's kind of just a matter of semantics. I mean, people use the words "cut" and "dig" for tools when what they're ultimately doing is changing tiles into empty space. The game is kind of built on descriptive terms like this, so we can't afford to be overly prescriptive with how items are described to the extent that climbing gear has to be described as unable to climb. Even so, it's not that big an issue.
The reason I'm responding is that this conversation is two years old. Making the changes to the page is fine if you feel them to be appropriate, but the discussion ended long ago. Realistically, there's a solid chance it was removed already and readded for the reasons stated above in the years that followed. Gearzein (talk) 09:04, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Dodge stack

Any idea if the master ninja gear and black belt's dodge effect stack? Personally I doubt it, but it would be interesting if that's the case. Er, less interesting and more bordering on game-breaking.--198.45.147.230 05:03, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Luckily they don't (source code confirmed). --0icke0 (talk) 07:42, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Honestly, don't know if the above is true, but from personal testing I got 9 misses out of 100 shots (dart trap). Answering this 6 year old discussion in case anyone wants to try these 2 plus brain of confusion. I believe they do not stack, but I still might be wrong as I could've been extremely unlucky. 190.191.16.4 02:27, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
