Mechanical Bosses?

Mothron seems to only appear after the Mechanical Bosses have been defeated? It's just something I've noticed. I survived many Solar Eclipse before I beat the three mechs and never got a Mothron. Now that I defeated them I constantly get Mothron to spawn in the event. Has someone encountered one before defeating the mechs? Mothron Spawning

Mothron's spawning isn't in any way associated with the player's current condition. I've had her spawn when my health was full. Her appearances are just relatively rare. Gearzein (talk) 17:52, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Mini Boss?

I don't have Terraria on PC, but I think Mothron could be considered as a Mini Boss, like how some people think the Wyvern could be considered one too. Rob4sian (talk) 00:25, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

I agree too, but the wythern is a tad bit easier. Mothron could be considered a mini boss but not like how King Slime is a mini boss. Macaro456 (talk) 14:38, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Mutually exclusive drops

According to the notes, the Broken Hero Sword and The Eye of Cthulhu are mutually exclusive and cannot drop at the same time. Yet I just dropped them both on my first Mothron kill. Is there any source for this note? Is it possible that it was true before but was changed in 1.4.0.1? --Silverthedragon (talk) 15:36, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

I can't vouch for pre-1.4.0.1, but I also just received both from the same Mothron, so it's definitely not true on PC as of right now. --Wrpen (talk) 05:28, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

3 Drops at Same Time?

So I killed a mothron during a solar eclipse, and I got the Mothron Wings, The Eye of Chtuhlu and a Broken Hero Sword. What are the chances of this happening? BTW, I'm playing on Master Mode. DeSappigeGamer1 (talk) 16:23, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Mothron spawning before Mechanical Bosses

We are on Mobile and my brother killed a Mothron before defeating Mechanical Bosses and got the Broken Hero Sword, though it says Mothron spawns after 3 Mechanical Bosses are defeated... Can someone explain? Piostephanie (talk) 01:16, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

If I recall correctly (didn't bother to check) this change was made in 1.4.1 to rebalance tiering of the true swords and Terra Blade. Mobile does not have 1.4.1 changes yet, it is accurate to 1.4 and probably post-launch hotfixes. --2057clones (talk) 02:11, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

No Drops without eggs?

I have killed at least a dozen Mothrons trying to get the Broken Hero Sword, but they have not laid any eggs and I have not gotten any drops from them. Can someone confirm? Dienamecamper (talk) 05:04, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
