Electrified Buff

Can someone with a better idea of how it works add a note about this causing the Electrified buff (randomized between 4-8 minutes in duration, I believe)? KZaicon (talk) 09:57, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

it doesn't, this is literally a piece for no more than visual ambiance, and giving the lunatic cultist a place to spawn. any other functional effects you hear about it are bogus. FinaLemon 00:05, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Lunatic Cultist not spawning

What would happen after the Mysterious Tablet was destroyed and the lunatic cultist didn't spawn? Would the Celestial Pillars even start, or would it count as nothing happening? (pre 1.4.1.2) UselessNumbers (talk) 00:12, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

If the Mysterious Tablet was destroyed like any normal enemy, then nothing special would happen; it would simply respawn eventually. The start of the Lunar Events is tied to the Lunatic Cultist's death. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 10:31, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! I probably worded that last question very badly, but I have another question! Is the Mysterious Tablet linked to the Lunatic Cultist, (when the Lunatic Devotee/archer dies, right?) and if multiple Mysterious Tablets were spawned, would they be linked to a single pair of Lunatic Devotee/Archers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by UselessNumbers (talk • contribs) at 00:56, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
After some testing with mod (thus in 1.3.5) when the naturally spawned Devotees and Archer will spawn the Lunatic Cultist with the 'stream of energy' (the flowing thing from the tablet) from the naturally spawned tablet and the tablets that spawned through mod just simply breaks at the moment the LC become vulnerable. --Daud ahn (talk) 01:54, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
This is what I'm taking from the Desktop version Desktop 1.4.1.2 source code: When the conditions are met, a Mysterious Tablet is spawned at the Dungeon. It then spawns the four cultists and takes these exact four enemies into memory. From then on, it constantly tracks them and if it registers that all of them are dead, then it will spawn the Lunatic Cultist. Similarly to the normal cultists, the Mysterious Tablet knows which instance of the Lunatic Cultist it has spawned and will perform all the fancy visual stuff in relation to that Lunatic Cultist only. It despawns five seconds after the Lunatic Cultist has been spawned. The Lunatic Cultist is also not aware of the Mysterious Tablet at all.
A Mysterious Tablet will never spawn if there is already one present in the world, but if that restriction didn't exist and there could be multiple present at the same time, then each one would spawn its own set of cultists immediately after spawning, and summon its own Lunatic Cultist if that own set of cultists is killed. I guess you could think of it as some kind of manager overseeing the time period between appearance at the Dungeon and spawning of the Lunatic Cultist – it creates and monitors the cultists, and creates the Lunatic Cultist when necessary.
So to answer your questions specifically: Yes, the Mysterious Tablet is linked to the Lunatic Cultist, but only one-way. If multiple Mysterious Tablets were spawned, each one had its own set of cultists.
