Waves

The number of waves, and the enemies the player will encounter in each wave will depend on the player's level of advancement into the game.

  • A chart idea. – Ferretwings (talk) 04:42, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Nice work. I added it to the page. I'm not sure which is better, but keeping both up seems doable. Equazcion (talk) 17:45, 18 Nov 2016 (UTC)
Thanks :) And 0icke0, thanks for your input, it's a definite improvement! :)
I went ahead and collapsed the chart on this talk page, as the one on the main page looks so much better. ;) – Ferretwings (talk) 03:37, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

Defeating the Mechanical Bosses in pre-Hardmode

If a player defeats the Mechanical Bosses in pre-Hardmode, does that open up Tier 2? Or is Hardmode also a requirement? Under "normal" circumstances the Mechanical Bosses are fought in hardmode, but since they can be summoned manually in pre-hardmode, I was wondering if there was a Hardmode flag that needed to be activated for T2. – Ferretwings (talk) 16:56, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

    Orge and Mage treasure bags

I ain't got any, but made it to the end of the event a lot of times. Have anyone ever saw them? 94.41.193.151 17:41, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

The treasure bags are not in the game. That is the reason why they are not droppable (changed that on the pages of ogre and mage to unobtainable). Flisch42 (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

    Cultist bug?

I noticed that there is a bug with the event that sometimes the Lunatic Cultist spawns randomly during the event only signaled by a change in music and kills me if I try to protect the crystal or kill the crystal if I run away before chasing after me again.

By the way, the last prism beam has no direct access to any of the Cultists so I couldn't have accidentally killed them. This bug only happens near the world edges. 180.157.24.27 11:01, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

You might want to report that on the official forum. The developers most likely won't read these pages. 4e696e6a6f795844 (talk) 12:49, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

    Old ones army

When is the old ones army event coming to xbox? 98.203.153.156 19:57, 24 February 2019 (UTC)Aiden

When 1.3.4 is ported over to Xbox One. Date unknown. – Ferretwings (talk) 20:03, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

1.3.4 xbox one has already passed because the current console (not old gen console) version is a PC 1.3.5.3 equivalent.

    Hardmode or not?

It's not mentioned in any page of Old One's Army, not even in the guide section, whether or not this is a hardmode event. The main page says its a Pre-hardmode, but the guide menu says it's a Hardmode. this is really confusing! please fix this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.224.161.163 at 20:19, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

The standard that is assumed for virtually all entities in the game is that they are available pre-Hardmode (since that is also the standard in the game's source code, by the way). Things that only become available at some point in Hardmode are explicitly defined as Hardmode-exclusive. Therefore, if nothing in this regard is mentioned, the entity is already available in pre-Hardmode (and continues to be in Hardmode – unless stated otherwise – to be crystal clear).
On this page (in the "Summoning" section), it is stated that the Tavernkeep NPC, who is necessary to initiate the event, starts spawning after the Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu has been defeated. I have moved this requirement up for better visibility (edit).
What "guide menu" are you referring to? This navigational template? The link to the Old One's Army is in the "Event" section there; there is no separation of Hardmode-exclusive events there.

It is a pre-hardmode event for T1 but hardmode may be required for T2 and T3.

Master mode old ones army Tier 3

I found tier 3 of old ones army impossible at the stage your supposed to fight it as either when you use ballista or spaced lightning aura neither of it will keep long egough to kill betsy i checked all Tips for it and all failed at wave 7 simply betsy doesnt seemed to follow me egough aND wyverns destroyed my crystal right when i got at least 50% hp down

This was played as melee I found this event technically impossible to win as the flat stat increase makes both lightning aura as shinobi or ballista as Valhalla knight For sentry effectivenes work for the beggining but on final wave all fails not to mention Beetle armor it worked fine but i had no Egough DPS to defeat betsy Attempted more than 30 times and i deem this event impossible post Golem. Redybird (talk) 22:42, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

I'll take that bet. i'm going to get past golem and i shall prove you so wrong 😎😎 Wolf (talk) 13:54, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

If you think i can't then you must not know about how many times i have broke game rules in the past and that this is easy to do with the same thing for a inf. loot spawner for the WoF so if you bet i can't then maybe bet again!:)Wolf (talk) 13:57, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

By the way, what is posted under here is from the WoF inf. farm strategies Autofarm Strategy with Boulder Statues An example of a Guide's house for a WoF farm An example of a Guide's house for a farm An example of WoF farm in Singleplayer Classic An example of WoF farm in Singleplayer Classic One more strategy could be to set up a farm that can kill the Wall of Flesh without the player even being in the Underworld. This strategy involves killing the Guide in Lava so that Wall of Flesh spawns, and then killing it with Boulder Statues.

To do this, you must make a house for the Guide in the Underworld at the edge of the world and set up Timers that actuate blocks to make him fall in the lava at least every 20 seconds. Put Lava beneath the blocks that are actuated and make sure that there is always a floor so that the Guide will never spawn somewhere else. Place a Pressure Plate in Lava to detect when the Guide falls in it. You should also put some other kind of trap to be sure that the Guide dies quickly in Lava, as it could take a while if he has a lot of Defense.

After setting up the Guide's house, you just have to set up the Boulder Statues. The Wall of Flesh speeds up when it's damaged, so place Boulder Statues with space between them varying: 10 with a space of 2, 5 with a space of 4 and 10 with a space of 6. This should beat it every time in Classic Mode. The Wall of Flesh will be killed endlessly, and you can let this farm run while continuing to play, gathering the drops as you see fit.

    Etherian Mana drops for T3?

Currently the table seems to say that on T3, no EM drops at all until the last wave. I surely hope that's not the case! --MentalMouse42 (talk) 10:37, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

    glitched
