Even though doubtful, this may actually be a reference to Touhou's Five Elements "Philosopher's Stone". Though it could just be a coincedence, because that spell references something in myth, which turns metal into gold. this might just reference that, though by the red color...

Nope. Philosopher's Stone is RL myth believed to allow transformation of metals (as catalyst) and creation of elixir of life, thus healing cooldown decrease. --Barhandar 20:29, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
