Hammering Platforms

Should the ability to hammer platforms to line up with the bottom of the grid instead of the top be mentioned here? If so, some anomaly/bugs to include: furniture cannot be placed on hammered platforms, water/lava/honey falls do not pass through hammered platforms. --69.81.62.34 21:21, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Bone Platforms?

I can't seem to find any Bone Platforms. For me, it's been the same story as with the various dungeon chandeliers. I've made at least a dozen different worlds and I haven't found any at all. Are they bugged, or just incredibly rare? FyreNWater (talk) 03:12, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

For testing I made 10 small worlds - none of them featured any Bone Platforms (or Dungeon Chandeliers, for that matter). For me it seems very much like Bone Platforms do not generate. I cannot be certain however; both Platforms and Chandeliers may be "stupidly rare" like some Paintings. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 18:12, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

placed pictures

I fee like the different styles of platform need to be demonstrated but I don't know wikitext for formatting tables, etc. Macks2008

I tend to agree. I've been thinking about adding more placed object pictures in general. BlueMana (talk) 03:16, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

"Wooden Platform"

Since we're on the subject of terminology lately (placed bottles, and all that) I've noticed the term "wooden platform" come up repeatedly. It's not used in any page title I don't think (except a redirect to this page) but I've seen it used in various articles. So what I'm wondering is... does "wooden" have any significance? If not, I think that word should be taken out as possibly misleading, since of course some platforms are not wood. BlueMana (talk) 03:16, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

To the best of my knowledge, the term "wooden platform" originated back when wooden platforms were the only type of platform, in order to distinguish the unique wooden platforms from a "platform" made out of regular blocks. But, seeing as the term "platform" clearly means a block that can be jumped through, I don't think the "wooden" part of the term means anything anymore. -KM100 (talk) 03:38, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
That's correct; "wooden platform" used to be a unique item. With the addition of the other platforms, we now use the term "platform" alone, but some old uses of "wooden platform" are still lurking about. Feel free to fix them where appropriate, if you come across them. Equazcion (talk) 07:50, 25 Apr 2015 (UTC)

Palm wood platforms

Palm wood platforms are available in old-gen, so if someone could fix that that would be great! Pikatwo24 (talk) 21:08, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

Platforms in old-gen

I found some platforms in old-gen that are craftable, but not up here. If someone could add them that would be great! -Palmwood platform -Glass platform Pikatwo24 (talk) 21:12, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

Can Wooden Platforms Count as Tables?

If you can put a bottle on a platform, and it counts as an alchemy station, does this mean that platforms can make tables?

Hmm! It seems that bottom platforms can *not* in fact support hanging lanterns or chandeliers.

Prompted by a post on the forums, I tried it myself in my Desktop world: Banners yes, but lanterns and chandeliers are a no-sell. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 01:22, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

preventing spawning

the tips section mentions that they can be used to prevent spawning, but the linked page says nothing about it, i'll delete the line and if someone actually knows if and how it works, please re add it
