Faster methods of travel

"The Rod of Discord was one of the fastest ways to travel before it was nerfed" would imply there are faster methods of traveling, but no hints to what those might be are given on the page. Dig494 (talk) 21:29, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

Teleportation items such as the Magic Mirror and Teleporter, I guess. It doesn't get much faster than instantly reaching the target destination. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 00:16, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Health cost discrepancy

It says (in the main description thing) "and depletes 1/6th (16.7%) of the player's maximum health", while in History, the most recent patch/update changed it from one sixth to one seventh. Which one is wrong? VonHabsburg (talk) 18:59, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Use with Sniper Rifle/Rifle Scope

In the tips section it mentions 'Using the Rod of Discord while using the "zoom" feature of a Sniper Rifle or Rifle Scope allows a player to teleport even further.' However the rod of discord needs to be selected to use, which would make it mutually exclusive of both the sniper rifle, and the rifle scope (which requires a gun be selected).

How would one use the rifle or scope to extend the range of the rod of discord? 66.46.186.170 18:50, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

I'm guessing that the expectation is that the player will switch and teleport before the screen scrolls all the way back. This is possible, but of dubious use, so I've removed this claim. Gearzein (talk) 19:32, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

Music resetting

Rod of Discord on mobile

It's presumably bugged, since it was also spitting out garbage death messages a few versions back. Thought they would've fixed it by now. Gearzein (talk) 01:55, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

Drop chance in Expert Mode

Does the drop chance increases in Expert Mode? Because it doesn't say so in the page. It should be updated. Tomycj (talk) 01:08, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Code checked. There's no difference in the drop rate between normal and expert mode. Increased drop odds aren't across the board. Critcodedtuna (talk) 17:08, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Cursed/Silenced mixup?

"The Cursed debuff will prevent use of the Rod of Discord even though it does not use Mana." Pretty sure Cursed blocks all items regardless of mana usage. My guess is this was meant to say Silenced instead, but I can't test it since I'm not lucky enough to get the item to drop. 97.95.6.153 14:54, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

Other reqs for Journey mode?

Can someone check the code please? I'm using 1.4.0.3 and I've killed over 2000 Chaos Elementals but have yet to see this drop. I'm in hard mode playing Journey, but have not killed any mechanical bosses yet. I'm just wondering if there's any other special conditions that need to be met or if I'm super unlucky. Update: got a pirate invasion and managed to get 5x Rod of Discord within 300 Chaos Elementals. Still not sure if this is a coincidence but it seems like my farm is working properly. - MIMP (talk) 04:56, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Im pretty sure that the discord in rod of discord's name doesnt have any connection to the discord app. The short being RoD can just be a play in words but we cant be sure if it was intended. 88.230.185.197 16:22, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

It says Rod of Discord can cause Negative Health in the Trivia.

How does that work? Can someone tell me how to do it?!

Reply：Maybe the reason is health loss but not damage taken. By increasing the damage amount per tick of some debuffs, negative health can also be seen in one frame or two.You can use a Rod of Discord and see what happens. Travel longer distance in PC/Console/Mobile

In this wiki it says "Using other items to increase the player's view, then quickly switching to the Rod of Discord and using it, allows teleporting larger distances. This can be done by using items like the Binoculars, Rifle Scope, or any of its upgrades." but it specifyies as only old-gen console and 3ds, but i do that with the binoculars in the desktop version and it happens usually, so why is it saying it's only old-gen console/3ds?
