Proof of instant death under 5000hp?

From soloing Skeletron Prime I've never encountered him killing me instantly when his health was below 5000. Does it happen when there's more than one person fighting him, or is this just misinformation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.205.18.134 at 10:07, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

It happens when the sun rises automatically, just like skeletron — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.69.96.187 at 15:15, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Videos of people fighting the boss

Am I the only one who find these unnecessary? This might be ok on a guide page, but I don't think it is appropriate for the main article. These videos are typically very long, not terribly interesting to watch and don't really demonstrate anything that can be explained in text. --GauHelldragon2 03:01, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Unnecessary. --NullTalk 06:18, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Damage Stats right?

It lists his 'death laser' damage and bomb damage as around 30, yet a full set of adamantine armor should be negating 24 of that, 28 with ironskin potion. But clearly those attacks are actually inflicting more damage than that in game.

I think some of these are wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.189.234.78 at 20:54, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

The bomb damage is listed as 40, which may account for 10 of the missing damage right there. Additionally, are you wearing the right head armor? If it's not the melee Helmet, you may have estimated your defense too high and, therefore, take more damage than expected. -- Lexmechanic 22:44, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Reference to fallout

I think skeleton prime might be a reference to a fallout robot, called 'liberty prime'. The main reason i tought about this was because of a falllout 3 texture pack where skeletron would be liberty prime or such. --Miauw62461 18:45, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Even then, Liberty Prime would be a reference to Optimus Prime. The Lead Designer of Fallout 3 stated that the name Liberty Prime could have been subconsciously influenced by Optimus Prime. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.88.248.94 at 08:46, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Much more likely a reference to Transformers. the affix -tron suggests Megatron, and other transformers, and I think the reference is solidified with -tron Prime, which would be Optimus Prime. 206.211.153.16 03:24, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
Excuse me for butting in, but skeletron prime looks a lot like The Terminator, HOW has nobody said anything? we should say something about that in trivia 122.60.45.6 00:34, 1 May 2020 (UTC)

Disappearing Bug

I just experienced the "head suddenly disappears" bug. It was during a Blood Moon (increased enemy spawn rates), I was using multiple Magic weapons (Golden Shower, Magnet Sphere, Heat Ray), with Lucky Coin equipped (to drop extra money the more I hit Skeletron Prime). Is it possible that I overloaded on sprites (enemies/attacks/coin drops) and that's what caused his head and limbs to despawn? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.228.18.231 at 05:24, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

HAHAHA Masochistic devs

"has a very small chance of spawning at a random time (This is annjnjnjnjnjn feature added in 1.2 to 'help players progress')"

Whoever thought that this was a good idea to "help players progress" must have imimimimijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijijiji their father "help them progress" at swimming by throwing them into a lake as a child. Thank you for thejnjnunjjijjjjjijjjjjjjjjjjj free death within my first few nights of hardcore mode. I didn't inflict aihbhuhuhuh hhnjnjnininijinininini scratch on him and lost a good chunk of money annhhnhnhnhhhhhhhhhd time. That's progression! I guess it's an incentive to get better gear then, huh? 74.69.40.245 15:41, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
He can randomly spawn athbhnunnuihhh7huhhuihjihij dusk, although you have already defeated him once. That should be edited, because it is false. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.147.197.96 at 15:45, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
You can exit the game to despawn any bosses to avoid nununjnjnujunununununulosing money. I used to have the same problem until I found that out. 73.9.15.157 18:23, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

This is not a places to complain, nhjnj(nhunihnhininijnjingo to somewhere else to complain about this. (If you want this changed, go to the forum)

Hallowed Bar Drops

If Skeletron Prime drops 19-35 Hallowed Bars like it is stated, then that makes it the mech boss that drops the least of them out of all three. Isn't that a tad counter-intuitive, considering that Skeletron Prime is the hardest mech boss of them all? Sodapone (talk) 04:24, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

"Hardest" is relative. 73.9.15.157 18:25, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

Defeat Tactics

To defeat skeletron prime, it is likely that you want at least chlorophyte armor or higher. Make sure your spawn is very open, or just easy to fight hardmode bosses in.

Grab Ironskin potion, Regeneration potion, and Swiftness potion. Don't forget to murder some pixies to make greater healing potion.

For ammo, Chlorophyte is great, as long as you are using a weapon that is worth wasting it on. For example, a shotgun with chlorophyte is very powerful, does lots of damage, and doesn't require aiming.

Shotguns and Machine guns are recommended. If you can, try to snag an Ice bow from an Ice Mimic. That bow does lots of damage, and converts arrows to Ice arrows, which do a lot of damage.

Have a campfire and heart lamp nearby.

A blue, yellow, or (green?) horseshoe balloon, combined with a jetpack, allows for easy evasion.

For armor, have the Melee chlorophyte set, it shoots leaf crystals at enemies, and also has tons of defense. Also, keep a spare Crimson armor set, to regenerate your health ASAP. Just remember to switch back, it IS an easy mode armor set. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.175.146.10 at 21:59, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

This probably fits better on the Guide:Skeletron Prime strategies article. Do however keep in mind that your info (or similar) may already be provided there, in case you decide to move/add your text. In either case, thanks for trying to help. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 02:40, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
There is one other small problem: it is impossible to obtain Chlorophyte armor prior to defeating all 3 mechanical bosses, at least to my knowledge. The Pickaxe Axe and the Drax are both post-Mechanical bosses, and are the minimum tools required for harvesting Chlorophyte. Diamondcat6746 (talk) 01:25, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
I take back my last comment somewhat, as I just found out that the Drax CAN be obtained pre-Hardmode in Shadow Chests on the Mobile/3DS versions. I will leave my last comment there, for clarification. Diamondcat6746 (talk) 01:37, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Turtle Armor

I don't think the Turtle Armor works to one-shot Skeletron Prime anymore. I just attempted this for fun, and he still did massive damage to me, but the damage that was dealt back by the turtle armor was only about 30. --96.42.19.109 04:09, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

The similar issue with Dungeon Guardians was fixed in 1.2.3. I'm guessing they fixed Skeleton Prime at the same time. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 00:22, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Am I worthy enough to defeat skeletron prime?

So I'm playing mobile terraria and I've gotten full titanium armor and some accessories that has some more defense so total is 55, a "deadly" clockwork assault rifle with silver bullets, a "savage" night's edge, a few potions, and a Phoenix blaster(don't remember wut modifier).

I decided to choose my battleground to be hell since I've built a platform(from the far right to left meaning the platform is unfinished) across to defeat multiple walls of flesh. I'm planning to put campfires all over the platform.

My buffs will be Ironskin, shine(I didn't place torches cause I'm lazy), obsidian skin(in case if I accidentally fell down to the unfinished parts and into lava), and thorns.

I'm just asking for a reply to see if u think I'm worthy enough and if I'm not then tell me a better solution and if u think the battleground sucks then suggest me a place. Pls don't put replies that require me to defeat at least a mechanical boss since I've not defeated any hard mode boss yet. I've summoned the twins 2 times and died since Spasmatism's eye fire is crap but if u think I should defeat easier bosses then suggest that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.36.106.43 at 23:00, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

This is a wiki, not a discussion forum. You may want to check the Skeletron Prime guide and decide for yourself, but to have these sorts of questions answered for you, you'll need to to to the official forums. Gearzein (talk) 23:15, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

EASIEST MECHANICAL BOSS!

Skeletron Prime is the EASIEST Mech Boss I only had hallowed Armor with adaminite boots and death sickle olden shower. Ejdeibert (talk) 14:02, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

That is nearly the best gear before defeating all three Mech Boss. Also, "easiest" is just an opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MightyDirtKing (talkcontribs) at 12:03, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

No drops bug

I defeated skeletron prime on the xbox 360 and it said i beat him but he didn't drop anything. (I killed him in space if that helps.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dude79968 (talk • contribs) at 23:29, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

I have also had Skeletron Prime fail to drop his Souls of Fright (he still dropped Hallowed bars and healing potions). This happened twice recently in recently spawned worlds (2022-2023) on Steam for Mac OS. Cashleyy (talk) 03:20, 21 January 2023 (UTC)

CAN be spawned in space?

The wiki page says that Skeletron Prime despawns almost immediately if spawned in space. I've summoned him there twice (that's where my arena is) and not had any problem, although he seemed to charge up from somewhere below (this also might've been the vice's charge attack). Maybe this info is false? I play on the PS3 Console edition, if that helps. Diamondcat6746 (talk) 18:53, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

Skeletron prime crashing game with map open?

On my old gen console, when i beat skeletron prime. the game would crash. and i would have to fight him again. I tried everything, killing him at the brisk of dawn, killing him in spin mode, killing all arms and killing him, but the map crashes game? anyone else have this problem? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.40.49.1 at 20:01, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

    • Is it PSP, PS3, Wii U, or XBOX 360? TerrariaInspectre (talk) 19:00, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

Prime Spin Defense

  • Does Prime's head defense double first then reduced defense from Ichor (28 defense), or reduced defense then doubled defense (8 defense)? TerrariaInspectre (talk) 18:52, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

daytime skeletron prime

one of my oldest videos on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSnTjTUJ_xM as you can see, skeletron prime during day is about the same speed as the player on asphalt (61 mph). interestingly enough, if prime has to go thru blocks, its speed slows down. more interestingly, rod of discord doesnt help and it seems prime speeds up even more until its about the same distance again... 71.191.68.202 11:54, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

Does anyone else find this strange?

Spazmatism and Retinazer both have their own Bestiary entries, but Prime's arms do not. I feel like this makes his Bestiary picture look really cramped, and I can't be the onle one who finds this odd. Sorry if I'm going off-topic, but I felt like I had to bring this up. 172.249.169.192 21:32, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

Spaz and Ret = two separate entities as a subset of the boss "The Twins", as they are two halves of the boss, but they have different movesets and behaviors, independent from each other, whereas Prime's arms are a subset of the singular boss which is "Skeletron Prime"; as the four arms are just part of what is actually one boss, shown by how they're all connected (And all die when the head dies). So it wouldn't make much sense for them to each be given their own bestiary entries, as they're not separate from Prime the way the two Twins are separate from each other. Please verify the Hallowed Bar drop count

As with every mech, the Expert Mode Hallowed Bar drop count isn't very accurate in my experience. I have gotten more than is shown to be possible on the Mech's pages too many times to count (And I have zero recollection of ever getting less than like 25, let alone 15), I can even get video proof of receiving >30 Hallowed Bars from a treasure bag if need be. This is a flaw I've seen on every Mech's page, it'd be awesome if someone could fix it (Will run my own tests to see exactly what the range of drop count is, if I find my data to be sufficient in the end I could modify the page myself). Thanks in advance. WhatAboutDustbunny (talk) 08:23, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Good catch! It's 20–35, not 15–30. We changed the wikitext syntax of the drop table when we added the Classic/Expert/Master tabs some time ago and it was me who put the Classic value in the Expert tab by mistake – sorry for that, and thanks for bringing it up. By the way, the Treasure Bag article has always stated the correct numbers. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 03:27, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
